Donation Program

A&R Ranch is affiliated with a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization called The Randall Parr Organization, Inc., established in 1993. For the past several years, we have facilitated a horse donation program that has helped many people.

HOW IT WORKS

One might own a good horse they wish to sell, but often find it difficult to obtain a fair selling price for their horse in the current flooded market. Our program allows that person to donate their horse to our nonprofit organization as an "in-kind" contribution and receive a tax-deductible receipt for their horse's fair market value. They may, then, be able to deduct all or part of that amount from their Federal Income Tax.

Fair market value is determined by cross-indexing the horse being donated with other horses of similar breed, age, and abilities, listed on established equestrian sales websites, and averaging sale prices. If we accept the horse, then we will then either use the horse in our own equestrian programs, or re-home the horse with a qualified buyer who will continue to take good care of it. To find out if participating in this program would be advantageous to you, consult your tax preparer.

Note:

- For declared values of $5,000 or above, your horse's value must be professionally appraised by a Certified Equine Appraiser at your expense.

- Horses we consider for donation will first be examined. The horse must be healthy, mentally/physically sound, possess a current Coggins, have no serious vices, and be broke to ride. Other restrictions may apply, so please contact us for more information. Enquiries may be emailed to amber.parr@me.com. Please include photos of the horse (with and without saddle), along with all relevant information on him or her that you can provide.
